Star Trek Online will jump to the format free-to-play from January 17

Players with active subscriptions will receive points to purchase new content.

With a slight delay with respect to the initial plans, Perfect World has confirmed that Star Trek Online will be passed to the business model-to-play free from January 17, at which time anyone who wishes may enjoy this massively multiplayer online game for free.

In December, players with active subscriptions will receive bonuses in the form of points to redeem for various items including extra twist as the business model based on microtransactions.
