Epic Games responds to criticism of the DLC for Gears of War 3 that are part of the game disk

"The album is another mechanism of distribution."

Rod Fergusson, one of the top executives from Epic Games, has talked with Kotaku portal on the recent controversy surrounding Gears of War 3 in a row of downloadable content included on the disc part of the game.

"We're not saying that everything is on the disk is the product. The album is another distribution mechanism," said Fergusson. "We started downloadable content packs early enough, and the prolongation in time for the delay development of this work we had done before launch."

"We thought it was a good decision, because then people would not have to download a huge thing when it is included on the disc. We could have left it out and then have said 'Hey guys! Here is another record,'" said the executive .
